Fish Creek Cabin Resort mentioned in The Spare Seat Blog

The Spare Seat guys blogged about visiting our Resort in the making on their website.

Fish Creek Cabin Resort was mentioned on pg. 2 of their blog under May 15,2012 Sylvan Beach/Day Off (link above will take you to the page) Our reference in the blog is as quoted below:

“The day continues with a stop off at Fish Creek Cabins to tour a new kayaking, biking and outdoor based cabin resort. Mike who runs the new site shows us around which starts waterside with a look at 10 miles of gorgeous white water  Class III – Class IV.  There are some brilliant features including some great holes and it would be a great venue for freestyle comps and river racing such as Boater-cross.  Below the Fish Creek resort it slows to meandering slower water perfect for families and canoe trips.  We are enthused by Mike’s plans and energy. What a place, great white water here and lake paddling only a few miles further down at Sylvan Beach.

The day is flying by and we are now ready to eat and make our way to the Canal View Café with our host, Kelly Blazosky, the Tourism President and Mike from Fish Creek.  Our final part of the day is to do a talk to local community members about our adventures and the Erie Canal.  It is in the local court which raises a smile”

Richard and Glenn are two influential experienced adventurer’s who only had great things to say about our location/future prospects.

Richard and Glenn started the Spare Seat Kayak Expedition at Niagara Falls and continued  along the Erie Canal to Albany then followed the canal until it met the Hudson River. Their journey continued on the Hudson towards NYC to the Statue of Liberty. The map below shows their route.

You can read more about both Richard’s Big 5 Kayak Challenge and Glenn’s adventures on their website under the heading Who. We’re looking forward to keeping contact with them in the future as our project grows!
